A Rainy, Nerdy And Beautiful Massachusetts Wedding – Cayse & Ryan

2013-09-17_0104

“The whole wedding felt very us; casual and sometimes silly.”

2013-09-17_0113

Good morning! This latest beautiful couple are Cayse & Ryan who were married at the amazing Holliston Historical Society with amazing images from Oh! Karina Photography. I’ll hand straight over to Cayse as her & Ryan’s story is so cute!

We were introduced by a mutual friend after a ladies night where we may have consumed Mad Dog 20 20 and an absurd amount of bacon while watching Arrested Development. The aforementioned MD 20 20 lead to a lot of complaining about how horrible my ex was and how I wanted to meet a nice guy “who just wants to hold my hand”. My friend immediately texted her fiance’s friend, who was a drummer in his band, to tell him she had a friend who “wants to kiss you”. Keep in mind I’ve never even seen a photo of the guy. Ryan, who was on a camping trip in North Carolina, replied with “Is she hot? She better be.” What a pompous jerk right?

My friend set up a group dinner and invited him anyway. When they came to pick us up he was wearing jeans and flip flops (one of my pet peeves) and it was raining. Oh Florida style. And it was a giant failure, or so I thought. He was silent pretty much the whole time and my rambunctious friends and I were quite the opposite. The next day our mutual friend forwarded me a text message from Ryan to her asking for my phone number because he had a really great time and wanted to ask me out. She also tells me Ryan wouldn’t shut up about how pretty he thought I was while they were in a separate car driving to dinner. Turns out he’s a bit awkward and does not speak while eating and I’m a bit awkward and quite vocal while doing all things. It was awkward happiness from there on out!

Sunflowers And Polka Dots – Layla & Vanien

2013-10-06_0055

Today I get to share with you an awesome couple who had everything from sunflowers, polka dots, a retro car, super stylish sunglasses and lots of rockabilly music!

Although we were from the same town, he had moved away years ago. I had seen him about Banbury town though so although we hadn’t officially met when we were talking online, we weren’t complete strangers.

It took a little while, but we eventually got chatting every day and then texting and decided to finally meet in Banbury.  He met me at the train station and I was so nervous I had already pretty much downed half a bottle of vodka! See me and Vanien are quite simple folk we don’t need fancy restaurants etc. we love our music and it was a beautiful day so we thought for our first date we would go and sit in a field listening to punk music drinking cider… We were also wearing Christmas hats in the middle of summer, it was love!

A Backyard Wedding With The Bride In Blue – Curtis & Bailie

2013-09-17_0027

“We wanted the entire wedding to really focus on the fact that our relationship existed with the constant nourishment of our family and friends”

2013-09-17_0037

Firstly, Bailie is in a gorgeous blue Betsey Johnson dress. Secondly, Curtis is wearing chequered Vans. Thirdly, these gorgeous photos were taken by One O.A.K Photography! What else is there that can make this wedding more awesome? Their reception took place on the roof of the Lincoln Centre!

My husband, Curtis and I met when he tattooed me.  After spending numerous hours together, we found out that we had a lot in common.  We ended up running into one another every single night for two weeks straight after that, so I guess our relationship just naturally formed from that.

2013-09-17_0025

The highlight of our wedding day was riding a borrowed tandem bicycle with my husband from our home to the reception in my wedding dress. It was a special time that we were able to enjoy as a couple before being surrounded by everyone again, and was a funny sight to see I’m sure.

“We kept things true to who we were… From the decorations to the custom invitation to the vegan food, it was all things we loved.”

The morning before the wedding, my husband and I decorated the yard and house with different items I had made using vintage ribbons, tablecloths and antiques of my grandmothers as well as lots of paper and flower bunting. I had the most fun setting up oversized paper flowers around the backyard…it looked like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

NOVEMBER 2012

In November of last year, a fabulous magazine about embracing the female tattoo culture was launched – Things & Ink. I had the privilege of taking part a photo shoot with photographer Laura Babb and editor Alice to show that tattoos can look gorgeous against your wedding dress!
