The Wedding Of A Jeweller And A Tattooist – Emily & Kyle

Today I get to bring you this gorgeous wedding photographed by New York’s Joyeuse Photography that took place in Washington. Emily & Kyle even got one of their friends ordained so they could have a more person ceremony.

Being a jeweller, Emily made their own wedding rings – “My business partner made my engagement ring and I wanted to make a really special and unique, but still simple wedding band to fit to the shape. I probably made 8 models before I came up with “the one”. My husband just wanted a plain half round gold band, but being as I am a jeweller I just couldn’t bear doing at least something a little interesting to it. So for his band I forged it out with one of his father’s old hammers. The beat up face of the old steel lent a cool stone-like texture to the gold.

We’re both in artistic trades (I’m a Jeweller and he’s a tattoo artist) so we wanted to make as much stuff as possible. He printed our invitations from a linoleum block that he designed and hand cut. I made home made canned jams as our favours (blueberry apple, plum cardamom, pear ginger, strawberry rhubarb, and apple butter). I also sewed all my bridesmaid dresses and we made all our decorations.

A Vintage Hollywood Style Wedding – Beesh & Chad

Brian Smyer-31

Today I get to share with you Beesh & Chad’s vintage Hollywood inspired wedding which took place at Eccles Community Art Center in Utah with photography from Brian of Smyer Image.

Brian Smyer-35

We met about 25 years ago, when I moved to Utah from France. I started the 2nd grade at Clinton Elementary and Chad was in my class. I would chase him around the playground calling him “caca-chi”. My family and I moved a couple months later to a different city but eventually moved back 6 years later when I was in the 8th grade. I started going to Sunset Jr High, Chad was going there as well and we had a few classes together and went right back to being friends (minus the “caca-chi” chasing).

Brian Smyer-18

By the time 9th grade came around we were a couple but of course we all know that “relationships” didn’t last long at that time and so he broke up with me (my first heart break). Of course I had to get back at him and went out with one of his best friends at the time just to make him jealous. Chad and I remained really good friends all the way through high school. After high school we parted ways for a few years until we found each other on myspace and renewed our friendship. Years into our renewed friendship and casual dating we finally made time for each other and have been together ever since.

Fun Facts From Simply Bridal – Something Blue

Today I bring you the final instalment of four typical traditions from Simply Bridal and how to tie them in to your wedding day. We had Something Old, Something New and Something Borrowed. Today I’m excited to share Something Blue with you!

Something BLUE

Blue is one of my favourite colours! I’d love a sapphire ring. I also think that the blue string idea is super cute! I love painting my nails and turquoise nails are a definite hit with me!

What will you be having as your Something Blue on your wedding day?
