Love Letters – A 1960s England Shoot

2014.12: AH & RB - e-Shoot

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this fab engagement shoot of two 1960s lovers Andrea and Rob from WTF4 Photography.

As Andrea and Rob are both fans of the fashion and style of 1960s England (as you can see from their amazing outfits and the inclusion of their much loved Mini and Scooter) photographer Matt wanted to try as much as possible to give their e-shoot that kind of feel. He scouted a number of locations in Swindon (where they live) to find areas that it would not detract from that goal. Matt got some great images from this shoot!

Rob and I met online, I stumbled across his profile and even though I thought “He’s way too cool to be interested in me” I thought I’d try my luck and ‘liked’ his profile (or whatever it is you do on these sites to show interest) and he messaged me back that day, part of the message included a rude joke in response to something I had on my profile…. I knew our sense of humour would work from that moment on!

When we met, I lived in Bristol and Rob in Swindon (about 50 miles away) so we did a lot of travelling back and forth, I’ve almost doubled the mileage on my old classic mini since we met. He was worth all the bouncy trips down the motorway though! 9 months later I moved in (so the car gets a slightly easier time now!)

A Tattooed Fairytale Wedding In Kent – Katie & Warren

Katie + Warren 345

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share tattooed bride and groom Katie and Warren’s Preston Court wedding from Rob Grimes Photography. I think Katie makes a gorgeous tattooed Jenny Packham bride too!

Warren & I met at a bar in Liverpool. We both believe everything happens for a reason and boy – are we glad we made it out that night… Warren was still in the army at the time and wasn’t supposed to be on leave that weekend, it was only at the last minute on the Friday he was told he could go home. And I had had a mad busy week at work and was in no mood for a night out, only going as it was for a friends birthday. Nearly 10years later we’re both still so thankful for that particular weekend leave & birthday night out!!

We chose to do a lot of things ourselves, out of enjoyment, to help keep me calm knowing everything would be exactly how I/we wanted it and it also made everything more personal for us. The day before the wedding, Warren and I had done all the floral centrepieces and made the buttonholes for our guests. The night before the wedding, my sister & I made our bouquets and my headpiece. This was my something old & borrowed from my auntie as I used my late Nanas pearl necklace sewed to two hairslides. We also done all our own decorations in both barns. In the weeks leading up to the wedding we had everyone saving us their old glass jars for the flowers, which my mum helped me decorate with burlap (I am now sick of burlap haha) and lace to fit in with the rusticness of the venue.

A Coastal Wedding In Florida – Sarah & Ben

MMI_4013

Today I get you share with the gorgeous wedding of tattooed bride Sarah and husband Ben from Orlando wedding photographer Gian Carlo Photography. Sarah is probably on of the most heavily tattooed brides I’ve had the chance to feature on Marry Me Ink, and she looks absolutely gorgeous!

We actually met on match.com. I had made my profile, forgot about it..never paid. One day I decided to log on and pay for a month (what’s the worst that could happen?). I then went to lunch, came back and had an email from Ben (my now husband). We met 3 days later, deleted our accounts and were stuck to each other like glue. We both had dreams about each other before we ever met…! It was fate.

We are not traditional people, so we didn’t want a bouquet  or garter toss. We had a cake and the toppers were our 4 dogs, Lucy, Lola, Maggie and Charles. It was just a laid back night of music, food and friends. We also had our Bulldog Lucy be the ring bearer.

Almost every single thing was made by loving hands. My mother made the most amazing bouquet out of old brooches and pins. She searched for a year and also had family and friends donate them. I tear up just thinking about it. All the center pieces were made of photos, old cameras, antiques and found items. Instead of a guestbook, I put out scrapbook paper, stickers, markers and tape so people could make small pieces of art for us. I then put them into the scrapbook and have it displayed in our home. Everything had a personal touch, something I’m very proud of.
