A Musical, Alice In Wonderland Wedding – Alpha & Catherine

It’s Christmas week! To celebrate the run up to the holidays I thought I’d start with a beautiful summer wedding from Velvet Storm Photography from earlier this year. Alpha and Cat were married at Deans Place Hotel in East Sussex and had a fun and family filled day of celebrations.

We met through mutual friends. It was funny because we both had the same friends for years but had never crossed each other’s paths, even though we both worked within the same industry (Alpha as a DJ and Catherine as a club promoter). Anyways about five years ago Alpha dated one of Friends. Thankfully it didn’t work out but it meant that we got to know each other a little during that time. About a year later we bumped into each other outside a nightclub, had a drunken conversation about deleting each other from Facebook which Cath is still mortified about. Alpha then re-added Cath later that night when she went home and as they say the rest is history.

Well we had an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding as were a bit theatrical ourselves. We wanted big bright colours, topsy-turvy decorations, and entertainment that continued throughout the day. Were not traditional people however we have traditional beliefs of marriage. The ceremony was very elegant (until dropped the rings and Alpha cursed lol) with a live saxophone list, but that’s where the tradition stopped. With both of us working in the entertainment industry we really wanted to put on a show that all of our guests would never forget. From a flash mob of Irish dancers, to singing waiters, to fire poi, we kept everybody on their toes all night. We wanted to look back at our wedding and say it was the biggest and best party we had ever been to and we definitely succeeded in achieving that.

Legend Bridal’s Alternative Catwalk – The Great Northern Wedding Show

Just over a week ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Great Northern Wedding Show where Marry Me Ink’s ultimate favourite Legend Bridal Designs had their own slot on the runway – The Alternative Catwalk.

Having such a massive love for Charlotte, Rach and the team at Legend Bridal Designs, I just had to be there and on the front row to witness the gowns in all their glittering glory. The catwalk was perfectly captured by ZT Photography (Which is why I’m using them because, as you can see, I’m busy Instagramming and catching the dresses as they pass the front row!) and she even included a little shoot in the car park afterwards.

This dress was a combination of gorgeous silk and featured a fresh flower train from another of Marry Me Ink’s favourites – Paragon Floral Design. I took a few shots and videos myself and uploaded them to the Marry Me Ink Instagram page if you want to check out the rest of the day!  Continue reading

How was everyone’s summer?!! Where did you go on holiday or did you stay and chill out with your pooches and kitties? I got engaged in Rhodes!! (More about that in a future post though!).

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this fab bridal shoot from Vickerstaff Photography that took place in the awesome SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWERY on the edge of Manchester City Center with tall glittering light up “Mr & Mrs Rock” from Words To Glow.

With a partner who just happened to be co-owner of a trendy, up and coming local micro-brewery on the edge of Manchester City Centre, I knew it’s fabulous working brewery and surrounding industrial backdrop would provide just the most amazing images for this edgy, industrial inspired shoot. I just love brides who dare to be different and wanted to showcase how previously unthought-of working industrial locations could provide the most modern and contemporary setting for your special occasion or wedding day.

With an ode to popular rock culture and in celebration of popular pop up bars such as the one at Seven Bro7hers; the shoot embraced the ‘rock goddess’ theme to the max. Leather biker jackets, bold, cutting edge hair and makeup, doc marten boots, electric guitars and beautiful lighting and photography combined with the pared back, trendy décor of the working brewery and bar made for some fantastically inspirational shots.

An Airbnb Wedding Reception In Texas – Allie & Dave

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you tattooed bride Allie and tattooed groom Dave’s Texas chapel wedding and awesome Airbnb reception (What an awesome idea!). This meant they had the small, private wedding they wanted and Austin wedding photographer Elissa R Photography was there to capture it all.

We met at work – our desks were located near each other, and Dave had to pass me to get to his desk when he came into the office every day. We’d awkwardly smile and bat eyelashes each other for a few moments every day until one of our co-workers introduced us because he just knew we’d be into each other.

Everything that we had represented us as a couple on the day! From the privacy of the wedding to our style. We tried to stay as true to ourselves as possible when planning everything out. My mom took care of decorating the cupcakes and arranging them. We didn’t really make anything for our wedding, we just kept it small and simple.

I actually had the tattoo on my back entirely reworked before the wedding because it showed my back and I wanted to ensure my ink matched my beautiful dress that day.
