Love Letters – With True Grit & Amazing Grace

Aisling&Jeremiah_engagement_IMG_0149

Today I get to share with you the most beautiful story of Aisling and Jeremiah’s engagement, alongside the stunning photography of Natalie J Weddings

We met in Vancouver, Canada. I had been living there for nearly a year and Jeremiah there for 3 years.

We met in a bar that I worked in Gastown called the The Metropole Pub “The Met”. Jeremiah would come in after work for a drink or he would come down on his days off with a group of mates for $2 Tuesdays. He and his mates drank a lot of $2 beers, they always tipped the best and the politest customers.

One night someone had had too many $2 beers and a fight had broken out (a regular occurrence at The Met), somehow this time Jeremiah and his mates had got dragged into it and onto the street, Jeremiah’s jacket got left behind and through the chaos I managed to find him and give it back. That was it that was “the moment”.

I was intrigued by Jeremiah, he was a big presence, always well dressed with tattoo’s and slick back hair, he was quiet and polite. We talked on Facebook and arranged to go to the movies.. The closer the date got, the more nervous I became.

A couple of nights before our date, I was out with some friends for a birthday and after a few too many drinks and new found courage I called Jeremiah and told him we had to meet right now and he obliged. Being the true gentleman he is , he looked after me gave me water and we talked all night, we were barely apart from that moment on.

After a few months of being together and doing everything together, my Canadian visa was expiring and I had to go back to England. For us to be together, Jeremiah had to return home to Australia to work and to save. This was a very difficult time for us being worlds apart and both leaving behind friends and the city we loved so much, but after a few months I was granted my Australian Visa and Jeremiah had paid for my flights. I shortly after arrived in Australia where Jeremiah has become the Grit to my Grace and we have began a wonderful new life together with our trusty sidekick and puppy dog Mr Bugsy.

After two years of living in Australia, we took a trip back to the U.K to introduce Jeremiah to my family (and little did in know, for Jeremiah to ask my dad for his blessing). We spent two weeks in the UK before doing a mini Euro Trip starting in Spain to see my bothers. From La Manga we drove the coast to Barcelona and then we flew to Nice. On the top of Montee Du Chateau over looking the most beautiful view of nice, Jeremiah told me he loved me as I was devouring the juiciest peach of my life I nodded with a approval. And then out of the blue he got down on one knee.. Through tears and beaming smile, (and a mouth full of peach) I said yes.

A Yorkshire Wedding Full Of Vintage Heirlooms – Claire & James

MMI_0710

Today on Marry Me Ink is this stunning wedding full of vintage trinkets and heirlooms and of course a gorgeous tattooed bride named Claire and her new husband James from Karen McGowran Photography.

MMI_0732

“James and I met in our local gym. I caught him eyeing up my bum and we both couldn’t help giggling!”

I went over to him and offered him the 1kg dumbbells, I don’t think he was expecting such cheek! We went on our first date a few days later where he thrashed me at pool, bowling and “bop-it” – no letting the lady win!! After that first date he kind of never left and officially moved in three months later! One of the first few times he met my mam, she was at my house with her friends having dinner. My mam (a sweet innocent lady), tripped over and face planted James’s crotch, much to the amusement of everyone! It has been a running joke since that she has a crush on him and James delighted in bringing this up in his speech.

James and I love hosting our close friends and family so when we found our venue, we were thrilled to find out it had a 20 berth cottage at the back. We invited our friends and family to stay for the two nights before the wedding where we hosted a big party and a pamper day for the ladies. It was fantastic to be able to make a full weekend of it and have our nearest and dearest there in the lead up to our big day.

James and I are very competitive so we wanted to incorporate that into our wedding day– hence the limbo competition. We also hired a boxing machine, where the pad comes down and you punch it as hard as you can to reveal your score. There were some very competitive guests and it was only at the last hour that someone beat James! Along the competitive line we also had a “guess how many sweets in the jar” competition and the winner won the massive jar of sweets.

We love playing pranks on each other and on each table we hid a whoopee cushion on a seat. We also wanted to capture lots of silly photographs which our wonderful photographer Karen McGowran did perfectly.

A Red, Black And White Rockabilly Wedding Full Of Skulls And Tattoos – Holli & Tim

MMI_0645

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you the most awesome skull and tattoo filled wedding of Holli & Tim’s from Ed Godden Photography (You may remember their awesome seaside engagement shoot from a couple of weeks ago).

MMI_0476

“I thought the whole day was insane, but the fact so many people turned up, the weather was incredible and the party atmosphere!”

MMI_0453

We actually met through a friend after we were both having the worst day of our lives! Loads of friends went to the pub to have a mid-week drink.

“Initially – I thought he was a complete jumped up idiot, and he thought I was a rude and loud mouthed party girl!”

However, after about ten Sailor Jerries later, we got talking, and by the end of the night I said to my friend Lauren that Tim was the man I was going to marry. (I didn’t think it would happen within two years though!)

“We tried not to have a theme as such, but it was all red, white and black complete with plenty of skulls and lots of tattoos!”

A Classic Neon Rock & Roll Shoot

MMI_0303

Today I get to share with you this awesome rock & roll tattooed styled shoot  full of neon colours from Belle Tulle Events, Liquid Crystal Photography and many more suppliers! Jeneen of Belle Tulle Events sent through this awesome shoot last month and I just had to share it!

MMI_0289

“Crystal and I came up with the idea for this shoot because we LOVE working with brides and grooms who have their own styles and are willing to push boundaries with colors and design.”

We find a lot of alternative brides may not hire certain vendors because they think they will get stuck in a traditional look but we wanted to show that there are many sides to our styles and what we can do for our couples.

MMI_0283

We were so excited once we got our colors (neon pink, yellow, lime, black and gold) and styles on the drawing board (we were really into lace, crinkle texture, jewels, glam, and skulls), and when we got our vendors in tow, you could just feel the gusto with which everyone participated. Once our stationer, Scripted Ever After, came up with the neon and skull motif for the invitations, we knew we were on the right track.

MMI_0300

Bee Ridge Florist was so excited to be doing something different, that she even gave us her skull earrings to use in the centrepiece arrangements! Custom Linens provided tablecloths for the head, cupcake, and favor tables which provided a really elegant backdrop, and accented the gold chiavari chairs and the art-deco chandelier hanging over the head-table.
