Inspiration – A Wild And Free Wedding

-®PFC-pourfairecourt.com-Mariage-Lyon-WildnFree-Hiver-49

Tattoos, beard and horses – This is what Cillia Ciabrini of Pour Fair Court shared with me and I’m so glad I get to feature it on Marry Me Ink. This inspirational wedding shoot was born from the desire to bring together a intimate wedding in a wild and bohemian atmosphere – a little rock and folk. This shoot is full of geometric colour and gorgeous landscapes.. My favourite! I had the chance to speak to Cillia about her styling ideas for the shoot.

It all started with the encounter with Lena and Aden – a beautiful couple with atypical traits and tattooed bodies but particularly funny and sweet! I have to admit, the beauty of Lena hit me – she releases an incredible softness and her beauty is timeless. She’s one of these warm beauties that seems cold from the outside, she’s mysterious and fascinating and it is exactly this atmosphere that I wanted to reflect, a winter wedding with a blue light but a warm couple. Sublimated by the Make Up of Alexia Parisi, Lena is gorgeous in her tailored silk dress made by the talented Kaa Couture.

Aden wears a suit by Vaubecour Lyon. (Even though he is more used to wearing jeans and sneakers!) All their tattoos were done at Lena’s shop in Lyon, Ink’a Tattoo. This is where they met and where I have also seen them for the first time.

A Colourful, Romantic, Piñata Filled Wedding In Mexico – Jeni & Oscar

I have been waiting what seems like forever to feature tattooed bride Jeni and her husband Oscar’s wedding from the awesome photo and video husband and wife team Nick and Maria of Studio 1208. I absolutely love them both and when Maria contacted me about her friend (Jeni) who got married at a fab villa in Mexico, I obviously had to feature is ASAP!

Well, we first met 16 years ago. I was 19 and he was 23 and dating my friend. (Just like any normal 19 year old, I let her know that when she was done with him I would be ready for my chance!) We hit it off and had way too much fun together (The poor guy was trying to finish college and I was in Party Girl mode). We dated for about 6 months and then I moved away. He went on to travel and work in Europe and I went and did my own thing, dated other guys etc. During those 14 years apart, I always thought about him.

We were never in love when I was 19, I was too young to even know what that was, but we had something special and I always hoped we would reunite (At least just to say “Hi”)

Fast forward, I’m 33 and getting separated from my then husband. Literally the same week Oscar, out of nowhere, popped up on my Instagram (I didn’t even know I was following him!) He was in my town and I immediately messaged him. One week later we made plans to meet up and grab a drink. I was so excited to just see my old friend, I didn’t expect what would happen next. He walked into that bar, gave me that famous hug and I literally melted. That’s when it all started. Ten months later he proposed and ten months after that I married him in Mexico. (Ten months after that I’m pregnant.. I think you know what happens ten months after that!) He is truly my soulmate. Our fate was strong enough and it brought us back together – Where we belong.

The details from our wedding were colorful, Spanish and romantic. We had a HUGE custom pink heart shaped piñata made that hung above us whilst we exchanged vows. That big heart truly represents our love. As for DIY –  my sister in law dipped old wime bottles in gold glitter which were used as candle holders down the centre of the tables. They were absolutely perfect!

A Dance Filled And Fun Wedding In Stafford – Becky & Simon

Ragdoll Photography (55 of 85)

Today’s bride and groom have matching tattoos and a love for the dance floor. Becky and Simon were married at countryside Grade II listed building Weston Hall accompanied by their friends and family, complete with Staffordshire wedding photographer Ragdoll Photography.

I met Simon in Tenerife in 2008. We were both on holiday with our friends. Simon caught my eye as we were dressed up as cow girls and Simon had the obligatory check shirt to match. I went over to ask for a picture with him, we got chatting and as they say ‘the rest was history!’. (I did however get his name wrong the first few days of us meeting as after first trying to convince me he was the bass player from Noah and the Whale (don’t worry – I didn’t fall for it!) he then introduced himself by his nickname Cully, to which I in a drunken haze heard Colin!)

Our day was based about being relaxed with a vintage/music twist. Our invites and seating plans were album covers based around The Beatles Hard Days Night LP, we had a love heart canvas made of plectrums for people to sign instead of a guestbook, song sheet music as part of our table decorations and not to forget my secret love heart, bass clef tattoo. Simon plays the bass in a band. We kept it vintage with our beautiful camper and minis and I had a 50’s style dress made.

A Nautical Pirate Wedding – Deanna & Chris

MMI (68 of 102)

Tattooed bride Deanna and husband Chris had a nautical theme to their wedding day, which included walking the plank and jumping into the pool at their venue Deer Crossing Inn and photography from Matt Ritscher from New Hope Photography.

When I was 18, I went with a friend to watch him get tattooed and saw Chris.  He was my friend’s tattoo artist.  I was smitten, but didn’t actually meet him until a few years later when I was then piercing at the same shop I first saw him at.  He had gone off to live on a boat in the Bahamas, but decided to return.

We were fast friends, and then roommates, all while dating other people.  It wasn’t until after we moved out to our own places that we started dating, and here we are nearly a decade later both tattoo artists, business partners, friends, and a married couple in love.

I think all of our wedding represented us a couple really. It was where all of my friends and family came together, not only to witness our marriage, but they all worked their tails off too. Our friends did the set up, cooking, sewing, video making, officiating, photography ect. We also had live music at the end of the night that was stompy, piratey and a blast.  I think that teamwork, community and fun are all things we try to aim for, and our wedding was a perfect embodiment of that.
