A Vintage, Enchanting Chapel Wedding – Jaclyn & Joseph

morales (334)

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share tattooed bride Jaclyn and husband Joseph’s intimate chapel wedding from Tara O. Photos – the fab vintage pin up photographer.

We first saw each other on Instagram. We started by dropping comments and likes on each other’s photos. Then a few weeks later we started chatting through DM. We continued talking every day for a few months, we would talk about everything from our favourite snacks to our goals in life. Our conversations lasted all night until one of us fell asleep. After that we knew we had to meet in person. From that moment on we knew it was forever!

Our wedding was held at a Spanish style chapel that had a very vintage feel, along with a day of the dead themed cake. I had wedding cake themed bridal shoes and a Spanish inspired headdress. They were the bits that represented us as a couple.

A 1980s Blitz Kids Bridal Shoot – Way Out Wedding

Alternative wedding photography by Paola De Paola

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this awesome bridal shoot, from Erin the brain behind Way Out Wedding and Paola de Paola Photography, full of shoulder pads and big hair.

Growing up in the 1980s, my head was turned at an early age by Adam and The Ants, Duran Duran, Visage, and all the outlandish fashion of the club scene. It’s such a visually exciting look, and completely original and representative of each person. No carbon copies back then; everything was borne of pure imagination. I just had to do a shoot that incorporated this into a bridal setting, no doubt about it. And I knew exactly who to ask to be on the team!! Fellow fans of this scene, who know it, love it, and brought serious expertise to the day. And there’s a huge thanks to Myriam from La dame au beret, who was this superstar stylist on the day, taking the reins for creating the looks superbly. She was in her element, and did such amazing things with the dresses, jewellery, and overall looks for the models.

All these suppliers took the look from my mind and made it into something so wonderful and beyond my dreams!

The dresses belong to my new preloved bridal range, No Debutante. Myriam and Lauren sourced most of the outfits, and these ladies know their early 1980s stuff! We added these finds to some dresses I already had in my stock, and together these perfectly represented the New Romantic scene crossed with edgy bridal. We teamed them up with glittering jewellery from Wolf & Moon.

A Music Filled, Seaside Wedding With A 50s Tattooed Bride – Sophie & Kyle

Sophie_Kyle_blog-317

On Marry Me Ink today is Sophie, who radiates a fifties tattooed bride vibe, and her husband Kyle who looks great in his maroon suit (More maroon suits please!). From Marry Me Ink favourite Ed Godden Photography is their fabulous fifties seaside wedding at The Cliff Hotel.

We met in the local pub at a gig, where Kyle’s friend asked me and my friend to play pool. I accidentally stabbed Kyle in the face with a pool cue and then eventually he asked for my number.. Haha!

The music at our wedding is what was really personal – our ceremony music was a selection of Muse songs, who are one of our favourite bands who we connected over when we first met. Then we went on to have David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac playing throughout the day, including our first dance which was Bowie’s Let’s Dance. We’d always joked about having it as a first dance, so was great to make it a reality.

A 1960s Retro London-On-Sea Wedding – Laura & Dave

Laura_Dave_wedding-652

Tattooed bride Laura wore a bespoke sixties style dress by Joanne Fleming Design (One of Marry Me Ink’s favourites) when she married husband Dave last year. Laura and Dave are both originally from seaside towns, so they decided to bring that feel to their wedding day, complete with fish and chips and have it all captured by the wonderful Ed Godden Photography.

Dave and I met whilst making a video game commercial. We remained friends for a number of years, hanging out with a similar group of friends and seeing each other at the odd BBQ. Neither of us considered a relationship with the other, until we drunkenly bumped until each other at a bad rock club – the rest is history as they say!

The whole wedding was based around us as a couple. We are both from Seaside towns (Brighton and Portsmouth) and therefore wanted represent that in our theme. As our home town of Stoke Newington in London, means so much to us we chose to have our wedding there, rather than having to pick a hometown and we created the theme of London-On-Sea. We found a beautiful venue that was set on the reservoir in Hackney and fed the guests with fish and chips on long tables, to make it feel like we were sailing on a galley ship. To keep the theme relaxed, we also serve our favourite foods of tacos, cupcakes and doughnuts and as the evening progressed, we got the bar to serve all our drinks in red-cups, which made incredible photos.
