To help with the romantic feel of the shoot, we had such a wonderful team on board including Kerry Baker Make Up Artist and Wedlocks Bridal Hair Specialist to make our faces beautiful and also Pearls and Swine and HF Couture to helped us accessorise us like glittering darlings!

E&W Couture – Beach Hut Brides

ew-146

I have always love the sweet, ethereal style of E&W Couture (Which until recently I didn’t realise stood for  “Ears & Whiskers Couture” – Hence the rabbit ears on their logo!), so when Carly Turner Photography sent me this beach hut shoot, I just had to say yes to featuring it! Carly sent me little email with all the details about the shoot..

I’m a wedding photographer and love shooting weddings, but I also love all the girly bits – especially the dresses! I photographed a wedding in the Spring and my bride had this really simple, unique two piece outfit (long skirt and seperate strapless crop top). The bride had told me that it had been made by E&W Couture and that I should check out the website as they had some really gorgeous stuff.

I got in contact with E&W Couture and ended up arranging to use their dresses on some styled bridal work. I chose dresses that I thought would suit the models best.

Bright Riot Edge 90s Tattooed Wedding Inspiration

DSC_1274

The latest instalment of tattooed bride inspiration is full of bright colours, Dr Martens and that “Riot edge” – It must be the 90s! The look and feel of the shoot was created by a great team of wedding suppliers including Jez Brown Photography, Sarah’s Doo Wop Dos and Restoration Cake. I got the chance to speak to Sarah who created Keely’s 90s look about what went on on the day.

As a hair and make-up artist I’m aways hearing from my brides that they want to look like the best version of themselves for their big day, so this is really where the shoot idea came from, building a styled shoot around the model’s own style.

Our model, Keely, has a great 90s vibe and always wears her hair up, so I wanted to create a look that she might actually wear on her wedding day. I opted for a big, tousled bun and a smokey eye with dramatic winged liner and a soft lip for a fun look with a bit of a 90s ‘riot girl’ edge. The clothing came from Keely’s own wardrobe and I really wanted to add some colour into her outfit, plus who doesn’t love sequins at a wedding!

Bridal Beauty Tips – Ms Moo Make Up

Bridal trends can be a little irrelevant at times as the main body of my brides come to me because I’ll give them something different; I have a lot of brides wanting vintage styled make-up or big red lipstick, which I’m always pleased to see on catwalks. This year is no difference.

Lips – all or nothing!

This year is seemingly ALL about bright lipstick or barely there nude and glossed lips. A favourite red amongst my bridal clients is Box by Illamasqua but I’ve also had a lot of brides choose pinkier tones recently too. Couple this with falsies and an up do and you have got bang on vintage glamour.

Bronze is a winning medal!

Beautiful bronzes are all over the catwalk this year. I’ve always favoured shimmered eyeshadows – I find bronze so much more mesmerising than gold. Coupled with nude lips, brushed & sculpted brow and highlighted cheekbones, you’ll captivate your bridal party and feel fierce as hell.

Glowing, not glitter ball!

Whilst I love highlighter, let’s not go for the glitterball look. I flippin’ ADORE Radiance Veil by Illamasqua under foundation. If my brides get a glimpse of the tub and question what’s going on their face, I tell them  that it’ll make them look like they’ve had ten hours of sleep the night before their wedding when, realistically, they’ll have had about four at a push. It just radiates from your face and adds a touch extra oomph to your skin. It’s gonna be a must have in my kit FOREVER.
