A Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas Wedding – Tabitha & Eric

T&E-177

Today on Marry Me Ink, tattooed bride Tabitha and husband Eric had a retro feel to their wedding that took place at the House of Blues, Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. From Las Vegas wedding Photographer Jamie Y Phography – Tabitha and Eric went on to celebrate at their wedding after-party at The Bourban Room at The Venetian.

T&E-231

We met online on Hot or Not, an online dating site that you rate each others pictures (Before the days of Tinder!) – Back in the old days of MSN we decided to start chatting on there, we chatted for a couple of weeks and originally planned on just staying friends. He was an army boy who lived 9 hours away from me, but after getting along so well we decided on a mutual half way meeting place which was Barrie Ontario. We spent a weekend together and had an instant connection – He had me at Wendy’s burgers at 1am! 10 years later and one year married, dropping my life for some army boy was the best choice I could have made!

T&E-200

We are big into being relaxed and having fun and we love music! Our ceremony took place outdoors in a garden setting, Our choice of restaurant was The House of Blues which was a laid back music venue with a good selection of normal foods, not that fancy stuff no one can pronounce and the afterparty was at The Bourban Room, the announcer is dressed as an 80’s hairband guy, and they play old rock and roll. The style I went for myself and my bridesmaids was rockabilly/pinup, which is something I am very into and have always admired. From the laid back outdoor ceremony, to the relaxed dinner for 15 and afterparty hearing nothing but rock and roll, all those things represented us to a T.

A Pastel Themed Wedding At Daytona Beach – Amanda & Alex

I love a coastal beach wedding and tattooed bride Amanda and husband Alex’s is no exception. From Tampa wedding photographer We Are The Portos comes their gorgeous day, filled with family and friends. I had the chance to speak to Phil of We Are The Portos about Amanda and Alex’s day..

I, Phil, have known Alex for years through the hardcore music scene. In a scene full of guys with chips on their shoulders or just sketchy, Alex has always been one of the most sincere dudes I know. He is a stand up guy and when I started to see from a far his love for Amanda, I couldn’t help being excited for him. Speaking to Amanda over text and phone calls from the time we got hired to the day of the wedding, proved that Alex found the perfect bride for himself.

The atmosphere of the day was great. Alex was nervous as he was getting ready, but in a middle school boy asking a girl to the dance kind of nervous. Amanda and her girls were having a great time at the hotel listening to early 2000’s rap and popping bottles.

The family and friends truly made it a really fun atmosphere. Everyone was easy to get a long with and when one bottle is being passed around for everyone to drink, you know they are enjoying themselves.

Our advice to all our couples is make the day about you guys. Details, decorations, dresses, etc… are all great, but the most important thing is to remember who you get to marry. Just enjoy the day above all things. Celebrate with friends and family but do not alter your day to please others. It is about the bride and groom, everyone else should be honored to be invited to be part of something so amazing.

Bright Riot Edge 90s Tattooed Wedding Inspiration

DSC_1274

The latest instalment of tattooed bride inspiration is full of bright colours, Dr Martens and that “Riot edge” – It must be the 90s! The look and feel of the shoot was created by a great team of wedding suppliers including Jez Brown Photography, Sarah’s Doo Wop Dos and Restoration Cake. I got the chance to speak to Sarah who created Keely’s 90s look about what went on on the day.

As a hair and make-up artist I’m aways hearing from my brides that they want to look like the best version of themselves for their big day, so this is really where the shoot idea came from, building a styled shoot around the model’s own style.

Our model, Keely, has a great 90s vibe and always wears her hair up, so I wanted to create a look that she might actually wear on her wedding day. I opted for a big, tousled bun and a smokey eye with dramatic winged liner and a soft lip for a fun look with a bit of a 90s ‘riot girl’ edge. The clothing came from Keely’s own wardrobe and I really wanted to add some colour into her outfit, plus who doesn’t love sequins at a wedding!

An Original, Outdoor Wedding In Guatemala – Kris & Irwin

Irwin & Kris - Daniel Lopez Perez - Wedding Photographer Guatemala - 060

Today’s tattooed bride on Marry Me Ink has gorgeous inkings including Maleficent and her raven Diablo. Kris married Irwin at their friends’ in San Jose Pinula, Guatemala and had the awesome Daniel Lopez Perez Photography to capture the moments of their day.

Irwin and I met each other at Michigan State University. He was using a piece of equipment in the hospital where I was working and when I walked by, he said “Hello Kristine.”  I was instantly annoyed because – How did he know my name? When I asked, he said, “Because you’re wearing a name tag.”  I felt so silly but I didn’t care because he was handsome and I loved his smile.  We hit it off, went out for coffee and eventually got married.

We’re not traditional at all so the hell with having a wedding inside a church.  I love Maleficent (hence the tattoos), so I walked down the aisle to Lana Del Ray’s “Once Upon a Dream.”  After our good friend and minister Jason announced us as husband and wife, we walked down the aisle to “The Throne Room” song played at the end of Episode IV of Star Wars.  The orchestral music captured the moment of us uniting as a couple and we felt like we just saved the Republic.  It was perfect.
