A Colourful Tattooed Filled Wedding – Clare & Jon

Clare-&-Jon---ELS-Design-Photography033

Remember tattooed bride Clare and husband Jon’s Tattooed Spring Garden engagement shoot and story of how Jon proposed using their dog? Well, it’s now time to share their super gorgeous colourful wedding that took place earlier this year (after only 20 weeks of planning too!) from Emma of ELS Design Photography.

I knew who Jon was for a while, he used to come to my work for lunch every now and then, a while later we met in a night club and we briefly spoke. However, a few weeks later, by coincidence, we was set up by a mutual friend! We only needed the one date – we just clicked!

The overall theme of the wedding represented us, everything from our ceremony music to bridesmaid dresses. – we both love anything 50’s. We only had 20 weeks to plan our wedding, but I think we did a wonderful job! As soon as we booked our special day, we were shopping for decorations, favours and  table pieces.. Most of them we had to make ourselves, but it was nice to have some personal touches to the day – Jon made all the stationery.

A Wild Wedding Party At SmART Space – Michelle & Jon

Retro_Peacock_Photography(82of204)

Today’s tattooed wedding on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Michelle and Jon’s wedding that took place at the quirky SmART Space, 78th Street Studios in Cleveland, Ohio. Most of their wedding was DIY and was captured beautifully by Retro Peacock Photography.  (Also, I’m in love with Michelle’s Simply Beaux Jewels necklace – They’re UK based!)

Jon and I met in middle school. A friend of his at the time invited my friend and me to sit with them at lunch (she and I usually sat alone), so we sat with them (a group of rowdy punk rock boys). Jon and I didn’t actually talk at all during lunch; we sat across the table from each other. However, at the end of lunch, I got up and walked by him to leave, he stopped me and asked me about my outfit: “don’t you wear that every other day?” I was used to my peers heckling me and being the smartass that I was, I replied with “yeah I do, I like this outfit and I don’t give a F what you think”. I walked away before he could respond. The next day at school, he pulled me aside, told me he respected my response from the day before and then he asked me to walk home with him. I was intrigued and it was too cute to resist, so I did. We ended up talking and walking around the woods near his house until it got dark outside and the rest is history.

Our wedding cake design, lined in leopard print ribbon and our cake topper, actually hand made by one of the bridesmaids, were silhouettes of a cat and a fox touching noses. This was significant because he and I are both wild at heart and animal lovers, so we chose our favorite animals because it was something non-traditional and different. We actually cut our cake with his family saber. His family has a long-standing tradition with attending Culver Military Academy and everyone who has attended, has their name engraved on the saber. We thought it would be a cool way to make me officially a member of the family, to wield the saber, because if/when we have children, they will go to Culver as well.

A Sunny, Autumnal Black Bridal Dress Shoot – Rivington

MMI_5196

About a week ago, I  got the chance to meet up with some awesome ladies and play dress-up at the beautiful and scenic Rivington which is part of the West Pennine Moors (and only a short drive away for us all!).

Earlier this year, Charlotte, Rachel and Tracy of Legend Bridal Designs Ltd altered a dress that was just taking up space in my wardrobe and created the beautiful cream and black Toile de Jouy dress for me to wear for the UK Blog Awards 2015. It fitted me perfectly and the quality of the dress is magnificent.

I wanted to get some pictures of it for them both at Legend Bridal Designs Ltd to share and what better way to do it then spend an afternoon in the great outdoors with Donna of ClickClick Bang Photography and Amy of Erin Olivia’s!

A Blissful, Stylish Garden Party Wedding – Janelle & Nick

MMI_4938

Tattooed bride Janelle contacted me via the Marry Me Ink Instagram with the above picture of her and new husband Nick. Aren’t they glorious? They were married at the stunning Green Gables Wedding Estate with wonderful images from Kristel Collins Photography.

We met at a high school football game, I believe it was homecoming game. We remained friends for about two years until Nick got some liquid courage and asked me out at Hooters! (Romantic right!) I drove him home that night and he called me the next morning to make sure he remembered correctly. That was 7 years ago and we have been inseparable ever since.

We wanted to make sure our taste and style was represented in our music choices. During the ceremony Nick walked out to ‘Feeling Alright by Rebelution’ and our first dance was ‘Is This Love’ by Bob Marley. I also asked our DJ if he could do a reggae style cocktail hour, which he pulled off perfectly. Our cocktail hour consisted of music by the Dirty Heads, Bob Marley, Iration, SOJA etc. It was the first time I had ever heard the Dirty Heads played at a wedding, but it was definitely us! We also wanted to include our sweet Lola in our wedding. It was definitely a pain to have her be a part of our ceremony but we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
