An Antique And 1920s Party, Full Of High Flying Fun – Ashley & Alyssa

MMI_4235

Today’s wedding features two gorgeous tattooed brides Ashley and Alyssa. The day involved a helicopter entrance at the American Helicopter Museum, a bride in a tux and an amazing 1920s vibe, captured by the awesome BG Productions – an epic husband and wife team based in Philadelphia. Plus – What’s more awesome than pizza and donuts at a wedding?!

We went to different schools in the same neighborhood. We both noticed each other around town, but it wasn’t that hard to spot each other since neither of us shied away from bizarre and out of the ordinary styles. Eventually we were introduced by mutual friends. We dated for a few months but broke up after a misunderstanding and didn’t talk for about a year. Finally Ashley sent me a email saying she wanted to see me, she claims she couldn’t stay away any longer. Our first time seeing each other we went to Philadelphia for the 4th of July fireworks and she held me while we watched. We have been inseparable and completely in love since then. We see the fireworks every 4th of July since that first time Almost 9 years ago. Last year she proposed to me under the fireworks. It was really surreal.

Alyssa – I mean I came in on a helicopter and that probably should have been the highlight… But as soon as I got to the end of the isle and looked up to see my gorgeous wife waiting for me, the helicopter was quickly forgotten. I knew she said she was wearing a tux. But I didn’t have any idea what it was going to look like. Honestly I thought it was going to be frumpy. But it wasn’t she looked like such a rockstar. The rest of the day went really fast. But when I think back thats all I remember is her standing waiting for me.

Ashley – So this is kind of cliche but the truth is the walk down the isle is the first thing I think of every time the wedding comes into my head. I am never super impressed by wedding dresses, to me they are overpriced white dresses, but deep down, I knew that Alyssa was going to pull something spectacular out. We were never going for the traditional aspect in our wedding but one tradition I wanted to keep in tact was to not see my wife until she walked to me down the isle.  I wouldn’t change that image for anything in the world now. I have truly never seen her look so beautiful and I have never seen a wedding dress I have loved more. Her jewelry made her sparkle like a diamond and her eyes were so calm and almost crimson in color (I am not really sure how she pulled that off). I have never been so overwhelmed by her beauty. There may have been a tear or two..

Marry Me Ink Loves Emma Warley Photography

MMI_3786

How is it the end of February already? Did any of you get engaged over Valentines Day? I’d love to hear from you if you did, as Marry Me Ink is still looking for 2015’s tattooed bride. You can read more about that here.

Today, I get to introduce you to another super supplier – Emma Warley Photography! You may have seen Emma’s work previously – Stephanie and Jock’s Falling Foss Tea Garden wedding

MMI_3790

My name is Emma Warley and I take photos that will make you smile, laugh and even cry (in a good way). I’m an alternative wedding photographer in that I don’t just turn up, get the group shots and go home, I stay with you all day and rock it.

I live by the seaside in Scarborough with my husband Richard and two cats, Eddie and Meg. I have rainbow hair, am obsessed with The Goonies and listen to an awful lot of music.

The inspiration for my work comes from love and people who love each other, as corny as that sounds, it’s what makes me have a passion for what I do. I take a lot of inspiration from films, music and the places around me too. I try to make the photographs I take of you show your love and personalities to the world and make you remember even the most fleeting of moments with fondness and a big ol’cheesy grin.

My favourite brides and grooms have big smiles, aren’t afraid to show their emotions and are totally up for fun and laughter on their wedding day!

An Art Filled, Peak District Wedding – Laura & Gary

MMI_3347

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this amazing tattooed bride and groom from Yorkshire alternative wedding photographers Tux & Tales.. Laura and Gary’s had a Peak District wedding at Cubley Hall. Both of them are art orientated (Gary being a fab tattooist) and Laura designed all of their stationery.

MMI_3294

We first met back in 2006 when my friend introduced us and Gary (Brownie) did my first ever tattoo. We didn’t cross paths again until 2008 when I came to Sheffield to study Graphic Design at University. We arranged our first date and have been together ever since! It was like we had known each other for years.

We wanted to try and hand make as much at our wedding as possible, which was really hard but with us both being creative people it felt important to add our own personal touches. I had little mini easels for the table numbers to show our artistic side. The Tea light holders and bunting were made by my amazing Grandma and Mum. I designed and hand printed all the invites and stationery including the signs and table plan. And for favours, my Mum made baileys flavoured cupcakes for everyone.

Joe and I met while he was on tour with the Goddamn Gallows. We shared French fries, talked until 8am and then as we were laying down to sleep, Joe slyly set up his bed roll next to mine.. Tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I wanted to cuddle! We started dating a week later.

The highlight of our wedding day was getting to see all of our planning and hard work pay off – Having all of our friends (both distant and local) come together in one place.

I think each detail of the wedding represented Joe and I, we planned and constructed everything very carefully and made sure it was exactly ‘us’.
