The Tattooed Wedding Collective

So last weekend marked the 6th Tattoo Tea Party at Manchester’s Event City where Legend Bridal and I launched The Tattooed Wedding Collective and had with us some amazing suppliers who we loved getting to now over the course of the weekend after only ever speaking online.

After stamping 100 bags and filling them with goodies each morning, it was great to meet some awesome people over the weekend including some of you that are planning your own tattooed wedding! The epic ZT Photography joined us over the weekend and took the models and myself for a mini shoot by the dodgems on the last day – We had so much fun!

Debbie Gillespie Cake Design

As well as Debbie’s show stopping cakes, we also had Paragon Floral Design with us over the weekend and their eye catching area – complete with flying crows. They certainly attracted the majority of the visitors to our corner.

We also had Unity Ceremonies with us who, on their stand, had a beautiful example of one the weddings Liz had been a part of.

Unity Civil Celebrancy

We also had the delight of having Art for Soles customised shoes with us too – Complete with Harry Potter and Walking Dead shoes and bags!

There were also beautiful tweed and glittery bows and perfect accessories for your pretty little head from Fruit Bat Textiles too – So much so, Zoe wore one all weekend!

And keeping our models looking pristine all weekend, we had the fabulous Kokino Hair and award winning bridal make up artist Sonara Parker on hand all weekend creating plenty of looks to match the dresses.

A MOD Lancashire Wedding Full Of Pin Ups and Scooters – Kira & David

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you Kira and David’s wedding from ZT Photography who I’m excited to have as part of The Tattooed Wedding Collective this weekend at The Tattoo Tea Party! They both got married at The Shireburn Arms Hotel in Clitheroe, Lancashire and it was full of fun on the day!

We actually met in a nightclub over 6 years ago. It sounds a bit like a film but it really was one of them moments where we both glanced across the room and caught each other’s eye. I said a few words to my friend and decided to pluck up the courage and walk over, however I got half way and freaked out so veered from his direction. As I turned he somehow managed to get in front of me which incidentally made me trip over his feet and into his arms. No words were said we just ended up kissing and now here we are married. I was hoping we could get married in the nightclub but unfortunately it got shut down.

We had a variety of things really that represented us, we are quiet quirky I would say and like to be a bit different especially with it being our actual day. Dave’s a bit of a MOD so was great to see all the valleys scooters come together and surprise him on the big day. We also love Northern soul so I asked a young dancing group called ‘Young Souls’ to entertain our guests at night – They can do some incredible high kicks!

An Intimate Yosemite National Park Wedding – Camilla & Matt

If you’ve been on the Marry Me Ink Facebook over the weekend you would have seen me sneak peek the gorgeous tattooed bride Camilla and Matt at Yosemite Park – Camilla is wearing a cute dress from Monsoon too! Today I’m so excited to share with you their wedding that took place at Redwoods from VeVi Photography. The views of the wedding ceremony are breathtaking!

Matt plays in a USA based death metal band, Exhumed, who were touring Europe extensively. Being really hungover I decided to go along to their show in London one evening, and thus met him there. I came stumbling out the toilets and I think he complimented me on my shirt I was wearing- which was a Tank Filth Hounds of Hades shirt. We managed to find each other on the social media world and exchanged messages for about a month before deciding to meet up in Amsterdam to see Iron Maiden – our “First Date” lasted almost a week as we traversed Amsterdam, London and Reading together.

Obviously, doing long distance and having 6000 miles between you means a lot of your family and friends don’t know about your story together or just hang out with you much in general, so we had a photo timeline out of our key dates and pictures from the 3 years. Seeing as we both LOVE heavy metal and Metallica we made a joke around the album “Ride the Lightning” and made a sign saying “Bride the Lightning” with our date on it. We don’t know if anyone else found it funny, but we sure did!

Being on a tight budget and very remote in a National Park we did a lot of everything ourselves. Pretty much everything including decorating jars, the archway, the bouquets, folding the napkins…We did most of it two days before  the wedding. Mostly me, Matt and the photographer we trapped in the middle of nowhere in Yosemite with us, but I have to say if it wasn’t for my photographer, Andreea, I would have been totally lost. She came and rescued the day and taught me how to arrange flowers, do origami napkins and just generally helped everything. I think the most fun was those two days of drinking while decorating things way up in the mountains. The arch was her idea and she made it in the morning of the wedding with leftover flowers and twigs! (hurray for jetlag!) We were so thankful and don’t think we have told her enough how amazing she is!

Due to the absolute nightmare I had for years with the US visa, we had to postpone our wedding. Originally it was supposed to be in August a year earlier. I was most excited about the day finally coming! That was the highlight for me at the end of a long immigration process… Finally, both us dressing up, having an amazing day (in the rain) and just amazing pictures of it all (we had Yosemite National Park as our backdrop!) and saying our vows in front of family and friends. The party was pretty wild!

Bohemian Desert Bridal Inspiration

Today on Marry Me Ink, we have a bit of tattooed bride style from Los Angeles wedding photographer Sarah Mack who recently went to the Desert Trip musical festival which is where the inspiration for the bohemian bridal shoot came from.

I was reminded of the magical quality the desert possesses to attract unique and artistic personalities. It is filled with a simplistic vibrancy that leaves you reflecting on its beauty.

With this shoot I wanted to embody the richness of creativity and beauty the desert possess. One of my good friends, Carly, of Sage and Swan Photography has recently relocated to Joshua Tree and I knew would be the perfect muse for this shoot.

Armed with a breathtaking bohemian wedding gown by BHLDN, Anthropologies bridal line, we wondered out into the Indian Cove Campground, located in Joshua Tree National Park.
