A Natural & Romantic Styled Shoot – The Tetley, Leeds

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend? Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this gorgeous styled shoot from Your Choice Photography that took place at The Tetley in Leeds. The Tetley is part of Leeds history, and is a little bit of old meets new with redesign inside which makes for a lovely backdrop and versatile enough for any couple.

Jordan & Jamie have been together some years now, and travelled over from Birmingham to take part in the beautiful shoot. Jamie models in the alternative industry and had just the look that I was after… she is really authentic and very sweet. Jordan is a guitarist in ‘Failure Is An Option’ and the pair give off this natural sweet, but rock ‘n’ vibe!

All the styling on the day was by Add Vintage, Emily created some beautiful looks which were incredible when combined with the illuminations from Love Lights The Way.

A Rockabilly Barbershop Engagement

This engagement shoot is the coolest one I’ve seen in a long time and from The Pin-Up Bride – Sam the groom-to-be works at Relics and Rust which is how he and fiance Emma, whilst exhibiting at a tattoo convention.

The proposal was amazing! I actually had no idea it was gonna happen. We had been doing the Route 66 and were about to head up to the Grand Canyon, I jokingly mentioned about how I ‘bet it would be an amazing place for a proposal’ little did I know it would be happening to me! It was quite funny actually as we ditched the tourist entrance and he took me to a secluded spot with spectacular views, Sam kept trying to get me to come closer to the edge, I’m super scared of heights so that wasn’t happening. Then he got down on one knee. Can’t top that moment, I was in total disbelief!

Being a tattooist myself I felt it’s so important to show off my tattoos as they’re part of me. I’m pretty fully covered and have a full backpiece and now working on a full frontal torso piece so really wanted to show this off. I’ve chosen a vintage lace backless gown for when we get married – the lace at the back really frames my backpiece in a pretty, delicate manner! Who wouldn’t want to show off their tattoos on a wedding day?! That’s one of the things Sam loves about me so I wouldn’t want to cover up!

A No-Stress Guide to Hosting a Cocktail Wedding Reception

Many couples are shying away from the traditional reception and considering something different — a cocktail party. Instead of sitting down and being served, guests can move about and mingle as they please.

The type of cocktail reception you host is entirely up to you. You can make the event as special and unique as you and your partner. If you want to plan an event to remember, read the no-stress guide below to hosting a cocktail wedding reception.

Tell Guests What to Expect

Keep guests satisfied by telling them what to expect on your wedding day. People can become uncomfortable or disgruntled when they feel they don’t know what is going on.

Communicate your wedding day schedule to friends and family, including the time and format of the reception. Add a short timeline on your save-the-dates and invitations. If you have a wedding website, provide an itinerary for the day that guests can follow. And be sure to list if you only plan to serve hors d’oeuvres, as some people may want to eat ahead of time.

Choose Non-Traditional Times

Most planning couples think a reception has to be around dinner time — between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. During this time, guests will expect a full meal. Whether you want to stick to appetizers only or want a party that’s different than most, consider choosing a non-traditional time for your reception.

Dark Neon – Industrial Chic Wedding Inspiration

A Neon Warehouse in the heart of Liverpool is the scene for today’s gorgeous Dark Neon wedding inspiration from Amy Faith Photography.

Hinterlands is a super cool licensed warehouse event venue in Liverpool that has become one of the hot new wedding locations for couples looking for somewhere un-traditional for their big day. The fact you can also get married there means you don’t have to go wandering around the city when you could be chilling and getting drunk with your guest.. I’ll let Amy give you an idea on how awesome this space is:

The guys at Hinterlands wanted a chance to show off their unique ceremony space, Eclipse, in the form of a high end styled shoot, using a bunch of wedding suppliers on the preferred supplier list. That’s where I come in! I’ve styled a few of my own quirky shoots and was pretty excited to get my teeth into something even quirkier. The chance to work on something that was completely devoid of any daylight! This may sound terrifying to some, and I’m not going to lie it was super challenging, but this is what I love about the wedding industry today: nothing worth doing is ever easy! It seemed a great way to celebrate something new.

So together with the Hinterlands we came up with a concept, design and overall style, which we then sent to each supplier as a brief for their products. It was brilliant to see so many different artists work with the brief in their own way and the end product was beautiful. Dark, edgy and raw, with a touch of elegance thrown in. Lit only by the event lighting rig, some beautiful old theatre lights, neon signs and candles we got to work capturing the entire space.
